THE AMERICAS BEFORE COLUMBUS

This is truly a polarizing book. When you read it, you will either love it, or hate it. I have yet to meet anyone on middle grounds with it. A friend and I actually avoid talking about it because we disagree so much about it.

I enjoyed the book for the first chapter or so before repetition of the line “[x] depressed me” began to annoy me to no end. I simply could not like Holden, and this is not a book where you can dislike the main character but still enjoy the story.

Having read it for an assignment and then having to write an essay, I do appreciate the meaning behind the book. I appreciate and understand how we hate the characteristics in others that most reflect upon ourselves and how desperately one holds on to childhood. I simply could not enjoy the story as much as I liked the meaning behind it.
Nebraska Roadmap Including Columbus

Dreadful. Judging from the first paragraph, this novel had the potential for being absorbing and a good holiday read. I was soon only making my way through it because I had nothing else to read and I kept thinking it must get better since it came highly recommended. If only I had had something better than this time waster: lazy plot that never seemed to go anywhere because it went in too many irrelevant directions, little firsthand knowledge of the circus, low-level vocabulary. A waste of time on a good topic.

This is great entertainment when you are stuck inside. Also provides some decent exercise. The only negative is the same music over and over. Had to quit playing for a while, because the music drove me crazy.
I Sailed with Columbus

Received the cables on time as promised. Works just as well as the more expensive cables, however, I only use them to play my DVD Movies since I only have Dish Network without HD. But the DVD movies are Awesome. Much more brillent color, sharper picture and super surround sound. You don’t need to use any RCA jacks, just the HDMI Cable does it all. Simple clear package keeps the price down and the connection ends are well protected with cap protectors. Glad I bought them and THANKS AGAIN Amazon……

Wow… this book took a while to read as I hung on every word that was written. I just could not put it down. I have read a good many books, but not one as great as this. I felt I was sitting in that kitchen with the characters and the words explaing the lifes of these people were so honest and intense. I am so happy a movie is in production, but also hope they do it right. As book as great as this deserves the best screenplay, actors, etc. Just like “The Color Purple”. This should be called “The Color Black”. Just do it right, like the book.

Columbus the Christ bearer

…that would be killing the messenger. This scale appears (unfortunately) to be accurate. Although more modern in design then my usual taste, it doesn’t seem out of place in my bathroom. The scale’s display is easy to read with the lights on or off. I’m glad I don’t have to put on my glasses to read it. That would be adding insult to injury. I highly recommend this scale.
Westward with Columbus
