I dropped our old scale on the bathroom floor, so I naturally turned to Amazon to find a reasonably priced, highly rated scale. I didn’t need all the extra bells and whistles, which aren’t that reliable anyway. The only criticisms were of the tap on feature, which has now been eliminated. Also, an attractive product with a wide standing area and a nicely lighted display. The weight is also consistent when you test it by trying it consecutively. All in all, a great scale, especially for the price.

I love this little gadget. However, I am somewhat disappointed in the connection to the internet. I have Comcast Internet and in heavy internet use times, the Ipod Touch times out preventing me from connecting to the internet unless I am connected to my computer. Other than that annoyance, I am enjoying my IPod Touch which is not the model most recently introduced.

This review is particularly of Nathaniel Parker’s narration, and not so much of the Artemis Fowl book itself, as there are already so many reviews on that.

If you want an auditory treat, get this audiobook – Nat Parker is a genius when it comes to bringing these characters to life. He does wonderful accents – there are multiple Irish accents for Artemis, Butler, Juliet and Angeline, but many others for the fairy people which are just amazing. In addition, his own, natural speaking /reading voice is so smooth , resonant and perfectly paced that is is a treat in itself. Unlike other audiobooks which I have listened to, you can’t hear him breathing – with some readers you hear every big breath they take and it gets irritating. He reads it perfectly and the great fun is in the rapid dialogue exchanges where he must manage different voices with different accents as well as the narrator’s voice.

The story itself, well, there are some boring and technical parts which I tried to read, and Artemis’s character is not terribly likeable, but the way Parker voices him makes you feel some affection for the character.

If you like the books, this is a worthwhile addition because of the way the characters are brought to life – and if you didn’t like the books, it’s a great listen just for Parker’s enormous vocal talent.

A number of reviewers warned that this scale “adjusts” its weight to be the same as it was before, even if the true weight has shifted slightly. This makes it -look- more reliable, but it does so at the expense of accuracy. I have confirmed this to be true with experiments at home, and it drives me crazy. I am on a weight loss program, and I like to weigh daily, so tenths of a pound matter. If the scale’s goal is to mask fluctuations, it should show pounds only and not tenths. That is false precision.

Other than that, it is an attractive looking scale and feels solid.

I haven’t ever used a watch like this before so i can’t compare to other models. i love the gps function. i love the sharing of info & training programs/upload. i really wish the battery would last longer. i think it’ll go total 5-6 hrs (with getting shut off inbetween). i am training for my first ultra & am afraid w/ continuous usage that the watch will not last for my whole long training runs. it is a bit big & clunky & it weighs unevenly on my wrist when i run.. i can feel it twisting on my wrist & is distracting & after several hours begins to hurt. Overall i am satisfied with the watch tho & am glad i got it.

My Garmin mount arrived from AMAZON even before the GPS did, but only by a couple of days. As soon as the GPS arrived I snapped it together and took it to my car and off we went. Mount is very sturdy, no problems going around corners or on bumpy roads. I am very satisfied.
