What an awesome product.
Received my Kindle in South Africa, extremely quickly after ordering (thanks Amazon), eagerly ripped the packaging apart and literally tried for 3 minutes to carefully remove the picture that was “pasted” on the screen!!!!!…….only to discover that it was a screen displayed picture Seeing is believing. Screen resolution is awesome to say the least.

Since then I haven’t looked back, I’ve already ordered and read about 35 books in the few months that I’ve owned this product.

Don’t, however, believe everything that they say about this Kindle:
1) the battery does NOT last for two weeks with the wireless switched off – it lasts longer!
2) reading in direct sunlight…..OK…..it really works!
3) easy to download new books…nope…WAY too easy……my credit card is taking strain
4) ……now my mom wants to claim it for herself…….will probably have buy her one for Xmas / Birthday.

I bought Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student but the only part of it that I’ve really used is the Excel part. The software appears to be well written. When you add all the capabilities in it, I think it’s a very good deal for around $100.00. It’s got hundreds of built in mathematical, scientific, statistical, and financial functions. It allows you to build and work with tables of data in a manner similar to working with databases. You can do graphs. That’s a pretty sophisticated capability that allows you to show them in various formats. You can do scenarios and what if types of studies. The ability to generate and modify Pivot Table Reports on the fly is an amazing capability all by itself. I’m impressed and I haven’t even started to work with Word and Powerpoint yet. There’s even more. You can create and read XML files, import and export data from and to other databases, Publish Worksheets on the web so others can view them, print, share your workbook with other users, etc., etc., etc. What I’ve worked with appears to work well. No software is perfect and this software isn’t either, but it’s very, very good. I always test it to see if it’s doing what I want it to do. It has passed the test just about every time. Where it hasn’t, I only needed to tweak it a little to get what I wanted out of it. That’s a good software.

While everyone is entitled to her own story, as a writer as well as an avid reader, I was amazed at how poorly written and executed this novel was. First and foremost, Stockett’s attempt at “dialect” was woefully inauthentic, and just came across as “bad black English.” (Further, I found it interesting that she choose not write in white Mississipian dialect as well, perhaps wanting us to believe that these counterparts somehow spoke proper, standard Engish.) Thematically, the bathroom motif was overused and became downright boring, as well as Hilly’s, the main antagonist’s, strange and ineradicable rottenness. In this regard, I think Stockett went too much for shock rather than a much needed nuance. I did not feel the urgency at the end of the novel, the fact that if the secret was let out about the book, all hell was going to break loose in Jackson, the likes of which had never been experienced.

If anything, what is minutely redeeming about the novel is the like you develop for the main characters: Aibeleen, Skeeter and Minny. I liken this novel to a sitcom where you may not like every episode, but you nevertheless like the actors. However, since this is obviously not one, the novel, in the end, fails.

At the age of seventeen, most adolescents have to make a decision as to what they will do with their life. Holden Caulfield, the protagonist of J.D. Salinger’s novel The Catcher in the Rye taking place in New York in the 1950’s, is no different. He decides that he has to “catch everybody if they start to go over a cliff – I mean if they’re running and they don’t look where they’re going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That’s all I’d do all day. I’d just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it’s crazy, but that’s the only thing I’d really like to be”. Holden is in the process of transitioning into adulthood; however, he wants to preserve his childhood innocence. He watched as his brother Allie died of leukemia at a young age and can’t bear to think of anyone else missing out on the virtues of childhood. He wants to protect his sister Phoebe from the evil adult world as he encourages her to ride the carousel. Holden himself attempts to venture into society, but can never seem to manage. Going out late at night, drinking, and getting involved with prostitutes are things that Holden tries to do to make the difficult transition. However, Holden faces many internal conflicts that prevent him from entering adulthood. He has flunked out of four preparatory schools and feels abandoned by his parents because he knows they will just send him off to another one without trying to understand the problem. Holden continues to search for his identity, and an answer to where the ducks go when the lagoon in Central Park freezes. All readers will be able to relate to Holden’s frustrations, disappointments, thoughts, and decisions. He proves himself to be complex, sharing the mentality of teenagers today. The audience can connect to Holden’s feelings of isolation and fear of growing up. The theme of Salinger’s book is timeless because Holden’s concerns match those of teenagers everywhere in every era. This is great entertainment when you are stuck inside. Also provides some decent exercise. The only negative is the same music over and over. Had to quit playing for a while, because the music drove me crazy.

Yes, i did heat up the water (not boiling hot) before putting it in the unit to start cleaning.
You DO have to be careful with the unit putting it together since the plastic is very flimsy which is a shame since it does the job and was very effective for the room and stairs i used it on. My unit did not come with the piece to clean out the suction area so i just unscrewed the cover off of it and washed it down.

Could this be better? absolutetly! but if you need one that will work this is the machine for you. I used it with the professional pet detergent. I did have leakage when i letthe unit stand upright while i used the stair hand held accessory but a small price to pay to get them clean. This still saves me money by not havingto call in the pros to clean and i don’t need an appt. I just wish they would improve on it.

If you are looking for something to have a good time with your children with then this is the game to have. My 6 yr old grandson loves the boxing and bowling from the game that comes with the wii. Lots of family entertainment.

To all of you enraged Christians who are continuosly guiding us to the Bible:
I mean…if we lived the way Neale Walsch writes we should live, we would all be happy. And we would all be loving.
Even if this goes against your supposed wrathful and vengeful God, isn’t this a preferred way to celebrate our existence? Instead of discarding this book in a fit of rage I encourage you to think a little deeper.
What is wrong with a world completely full of love? I see nothing.
To those of you who haven’t read the book: You need to be ready for it and go into it with complete lack of judgment. It was hard, for me, for instance, to get the idea out of my head that the voice of God was male, but you start to feel your mind expanding. If, however, you’re willing to keep your mind closed to any ideas outside of your own, which I don’t recommend, don’t risk being challenged in your beliefs by reading this. It’s sometimes hard to think that misinterpretation is impossible and that difference is a beautiful thing.
